Billy Hebert Field Manager

209-957-8462

JD Hardcastle graduated from the University of the Pacific in 1998, and played baseball for the Tigers. His collegiate home field was Billy Hebert Field. After graduation, Hardcastle signed with the Chicago Cubs organization and spent 5 years playing professionally.During off seasons, Hardcastle would train local players to make ends meet, and had the opportunity to train future big leaguers Barry Enright and David Cooper. After retiring from playing professionally, Hardcastle purchased the local coin operated batting cage and retail shop All Star Batters Box in North Stockton in 2003. The focus was always training, development and teaching "The Game Within the Game". Hardcastle wanted to make sure he to taught life lessons through the game of baseball to his athletes.

Hardcastle trained players in the coin operated cages until he could build out a modest 1,500 sq foot training area within the building. During the first year, he coached a travel team out of the Bay Area - Star Maker Sports, which roster included future Big Leaguers Max Stassi and Joe Panik. In 2004, the Club All Star travel baseball program was born with one 12U team and have since grown to 12 baseball and two Fastpitch softball teams. In 2007, Club All Star moved into a bigger facility in Central Stockton, and in 2011 Hardcastle and his wife Danielle won a bid with the City of Stockton to maintain and operate the vacated and rundown Billy Hebert Field complex. Today, Billy Hebert Complex is now the home of Club All Star and hosts multiple tournaments for travel ball throughout the year. Coaching wise, Hardcastle has had the opportunity to coach Big Leaguers Aaron Judge, Willie Calhoun, Mitch Walding and Dean Kremer through the CAS program. Hardcastle has coached 35 players who have gone on to play professionally, over 200 play at the collegiate level.
